Deisel engines have more torque than gas. Even if they put a 2.0T gas engine in it, you wouldn’t be red-lining it to make more power. All VW has to do to make it comparable to a gas engine of similar size is change the gearing so it’s taller.
Yeah, the ECU runs the traction control as well as the engine and other electronics.
